ANOTHER ANGEL DOLL.

The idea was to create a character I could use to study form. Not much thought was given other than what would be fun to paint and or draw.

A continuation and practice of my faux 3d style.

This time I would really go hard on that vaguely anime, uncanny valley look.

I wanted her to feel angelic in a truly mythical sense. Otherworldly. Similar in feeling to the works of Kazuma Kaneko or that sense of wonder an urban legend can bring out of you.

Choices like her illuminated red eyes, un-rendered matching red halo, naked yet sexless body, hard to read expression and statuesque appearance like that of catholic angel sculptures despite clearly being alive, were quite deliberate in achieving that effect.

I would continue to use P.S.O.2 as a point of study. I created a character sheet of my player character from as many angles as I could fit within a single image while still retaining visible detail.

While she’s not a 1:1 recreation of my player character, my player character would make for an incredibly helpful and educational reference.
