HATCHING.

Hard to pinpoint where I became infatuated with the imagery of flowers growing out of wounds, but it was a motif that showed up in other forms within unfinished artworks.

Though in those unfinished works, I was drawing tanks and structures that had been so long abandoned, they were overtaken by nature.

“Hatching” has similar visuals to Silent Hill F’s trailer or something within the murder scenes from Hannibal but I don’t believe it’s inspired by either of those more so than encouraged.

I drew this while I was in college studying animation. So my style had shifted to less of a painterly look from a need and interest to simplify. I felt I had explored my faux 3d look to a point of satisfaction and so became interested in what I could do within more fit for animation styles.

Not that everything I would make would follow this interest to a T.
