A lead up to an event that could-be or just could-be-like what was seen in that work.
Which begs the question, is this a revisiting of it’s concept? Yes. It is.

Though here we see a character, maybe even the same character working away on herself. Uses or is?

Both it seems. There’s a candid quality I like to this work, as if you’ve walked in on someone in deep introspection or self improvement, a snake shedding it’s dying skin, leave it be.
